This tutorial walks through sending your first WhatsApp broadcast to an opted-in audience. It assumes your number is already connected — if not, start with Set up your number.

1. Build an opted-in segment

Use tags and attributes to group contacts who agreed to hear from you. Keep the segment focused: relevance drives engagement.

2. Choose an approved template

Pick a template in the right category and fill in any variables, such as a first name or an order reference. If you're new to templates, read Writing message templates that get approved.

3. Preview

Check how the message looks with real variable values. Read it as a recipient would — is the purpose clear? Is there an easy way to opt out where appropriate?

4. Schedule or send

Send immediately or schedule for a sensible time in your audience's timezone.

5. Track delivery

After sending, watch delivered, read and failed counts in reporting. Use what you learn to refine the next campaign.

A reminder

Messaging charges and template approval are handled by WhatsApp and are separate from your VPmessage subscription. For current charges and limits, check your account.
